Sporting CP striker Bas Dost scored his 25th league goal of the season in the thrilling 4-3 win over Belenenses but it ended a quite remarkable trend for the Dutchman.

Yet incredibly, his 12th minute strike yesterday was the first time since March 2017 he scored by taking more than touch.

As a fine chap has informed us all on reddit/r/soccer, it ends a remarkable run of 45 first-time finishes from the 28-year old. A proper 'fox in the box', Dost specialises in those types of goals.
Since joining in the summer of 2016 for a reported 10 million euros, Dost has netted an excellent return of 68 goals.
Of those 68, only four were not first-time finishes. 12 goals were from the spot, 27 were headers and 25 were one-touch strikes with his feet. Pretty incredible stuff.
:flushed: Bas Dost ended a run of 64 one touch finishes last night as he took as touch before scoring for Sporting Lisbon.
:punch: Here's how his 64 first time finishes break down:
Penalties - 12
Headers - 27
:soccer: One touch tap-ins - 25

Dost rarely contributes to phases of play but he is an absolute predator in the box and he has a sublime goal record to show for it.
While he's reliant on the service from the likes of Gelson Martins and Bruno Fernandes, his knack for putting the ball in the back of the net is extremely impressive.
Don't be surprised if Dost attracts plenty of interest from clubs when the summer transfer window.
