Jose Mourinho couldn't hide his delight after goals from Romelu Lukaku and Marcus Rashford secured the spoils against Pep Guardiola's Manchester City at the NRG Stadium in Houston.

Lukaku's second goal for United certainly grabbed all the headlines as Mourinho highlighted the 24-year-old's performance against City, saying; "I couldn't be happier with what he's doing."

As well as the Belgian's performance against the likes of Kyle Walker and Vincent Kompany, another high profile signing in Paul Pogba made a huge impression on the game.

One moment involving midfielder Fernandinho has since done the rounds on social media, and for good reason.

Hugging the touchline, Pogba teased the Brazilian by hovering his foot over the ball while Fernandinho tood and watched. Just look at Leroy Sane - he doesn't know what's going on:

Following the victories against LA Galaxy and Real Salt Lake, Pogba's best mate Romelu Lukaku made it two in two by coolly converting to score a classy goal.

Pogba launched a long range pass with Lukaku beating City's defence and the onrushing Ederson. He headed past the keeper before finishing smartly from a tight angle.

Minutes after taking the lead, his strike partner Marcus Rashford doubled United's advantage with the pair forging a budding and lethal strike force.

The 19-year-old is certainly staking a claim in the United side right now, and Mourinho has hinted that a partnership with Lukaku could be a possibility next season.

Rashford himself praised their new partnership, saying: "I think different games require different tactics and it just gives the manager one extra thing to use,"

"I think it's not only me and Romelu. We can play with Anthony [Martial] and Romelu. We've got a few different options that we can play. It widens our chances of glory next season."
