Sampdoria striker Duvan Zapata scored one of the greatest solo goals in Serie A yesterday when he scored the winner in a 2-1 victory over Udinese.
The 26-year old hadn't been in the best run of form leading up to the game and started on the bench for the home game.
But he ended up making quite the impact when he entered the fray, bagging a goal worth of winning the 2018 Puskas award in the 83rd minute.
Collecting the ball from the edge of his own box after an Udinese corner, the Colombian international marauded his way to the opposite end of the pitch using pure pacer and power.

He then completed the superb solo goal by lobbing the goalkeeper from the corner of the area and finding the top corner.
Of course, the pertinent question would be as to whether he did actually mean the finish. Unfortunately, the man himself admitted he wasn't actually intending to shoot:

To be honest, I was trying to cross it for Fabio Quagliarella," Zapata revealed to Sky Sport Italia, as per Football Italia.
"It went in the net instead, but I am happy above all because it's an important goal for Sampdoria."
The strike was Zapata's eighth goal this season. Samp are currently in sixth place in Serie A, level on points with seventh placed AC Milan.
