Cristiano Ronaldo's unorthodox hand trick for Real Madrid and Portugal still needs explaining

Ronaldo's showboating ways peaked back in 2013 during an international game when he performed a peculiar hand trick against Spain.

As he controlled the ball with his right foot, he put both hands out as if he were about to catch it.

Though he drew his hands away from the ball as he played a pass. Check it out below:

Ronaldo also executed the hand trick during his glory Real Madrid days against Barcelona of all teams.

What's more, he did the same trick TWICE in a match while fending off legendary defender Carles Puyol (skip to 4:45):

Ronaldo's sorcery got fans talking.

One suggested: "Look like he was controlling the ball speed of falling down or he could control gravity when the ball is close to his hand."

A second wrote: "Strange Trick," while another added: "Cool trick."

But, as one person online suggested, anyone can do it - though it shows Ronaldo's courage and skill to actually pull it off during the heat of battle.

It looks like the superstar forward has put the hand trick back in the locker as we haven't seen it for a while now.
