ZLATAN IS BACK!

Just six months after many deemed his career to be over, Zlatan Ibrahimovic has overcome his injury woes and will reportedly return to Manchester United training at the end of October.

The 36-year-old suffered serious cruciate knee ligament damage in the Europa League quarter final tie against Anderlecht back in April, but the Swede has once again proved his superhuman strength by returning to action earlier than expected.

According to ESPN, the former Barcelona and AC Milan striker will return to Carrington full-time at the end of the month.

The news comes just days after Ibrahimovic's surgeon Freddie Fudid gave the player a word of warning on his early return, saying:

"He is very strong but soccer is still a combative sport. As a doctor, of course I want to see him return as slow as possible, only when he is fully fit for the game." Fudid told the South China Morning Post.

"There have been many cases of a player returning prematurely with bad consequences."

However the good news is that doctor Fudid did balance that news up with an assessment of Ibrahimovic that is both impressive and unsurprising in equal measure, adding:

"I have treated almost 60 professional players and Ibrahimovic is certainly one of the best and strongest players I have ever operated on. He has a very strong attitude. Even before the operation, he firmly believed he would come back in his soccer career and would not retire just because of the injury.

"And when we examined his knee, other than the ligament injuries he sustained, the joint, the muscles and other parts of his knee are all in top-notch condition, just like those of a 15-year-old boy and not a soccer player who has been [subjecting his knee to the rigours of] fierce physical competition for so many years."

Just four months after Manchester United decided to release the player, Zlatan could feature for Manchester United against Tottenham Hotspur on October 28, according to The Sun.

We can't wait to see the big man back in the Premier League.

Can he recapture his form of last season after such a serious knee injury?
