What Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain Did At Full-Time After Being Booed The Entire Game Is Brilliant

What Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain Did At Full-Time After Being Booed The Entire Game Is Brilliant

Well played...

He didn't receive a very warm welcome on his return to the Emirates, but former Arsenal midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain produced a moment of class after the full-time whistle.

Arsenal fans chanted "He sits on the bench, he sits on the bench, Oxlade-Chamberlain, he sits on the bench" throughout the game, as well as booing his entrance in the second half.

But despite all of the above, the England international showed his class by applauding the entire stadium to show his appreciation to the fans who used to support him.

As you can see in the above clip, Oxlade-Chamberlain applauded the Arsenal fans and they clap him in return - a sign that some fans did appreciate his contribution during his time in North London.

You've got to appreciate the gesture.

Away from the Chamberlain moment, it was arguably one of the games of the season.

Philippe Coutinho opened the scoring with a superb header that left Cech helpless, but a second half onslaught from the likes of Mesut Ozil and Granit Xhaka helped Arsenal get back into the game in arguably the best game of the season so far.

There was just 388 seconds between Mo Salah's goal and Mesut Ozil giving Arsenal the lead.

That being said, one Arsenal player was slated throughout and his name is Alexis Sanchez.

The Chilean gave the ball away on a number of occasions, with many suggesting that his head is not in the game following transfer speculation surrounding a move to Premier League leaders Manchester City.

Of course this isn't the first time Sanchez has been criticised for his efforts in recent weeks, but more than ever, Arsenal fans were rightly annoyed with the player's contribution against Liverpool.

What a game, though.
