Ruben Dias produced one of the finest defensive performances in Champions League history on Tuesday night as a dominant Manchester City secured a place in the final after beating Paris Saint-Germain.

The 23-year-old centre-back, signed from Benfica in the summer for a reported £61.64 million [that looks like an absolute steal right now], has been a colossal force at the back since arriving on a six-year deal.

He has come in and forged a solid partnership alongside the much-improved John Stones for the majority of the campaign and as a result, City have dominated in a number of competitions, including the Champions League.

In fact, Pep Guardiola's City are the first Premier League team to win 11 games in a single Champions League campaign, with Dias' form being a key factor in their success.

After he restricted Kylian Mbappe from recording a single shot on target at the Parc des Princes last week, the Portuguese centre-back was once again a crucial cog in the club's second-leg, semi-final victory.

Dias completed a staggering 100 percent of his tackles and stopped numerous chances from hitting the target during Tuesday night's clash, including three monstrous blocks.

A compilation of his Man of the Match performance against the Ligue 1 champions has emerged after the final whistle and it is quite something. Are we currently watching the best centre-back in world football right now?

Dias continued to show maturity beyond his years with a brilliant post-match interview after the final whistle. "When the difficult times come we step up."

Is he the best defender in world football right now? Based off this season alone, you certainly have to put Dias in the frame.
