Jorginho Averaged A Pass Every 27.55 Seconds On His Chelsea Debut

Wow.

He might have only played 45 minutes against Perth on Monday afternoon, but Chelsea's newest signing Jorginho touched the ball 101 times and made 98 successful passes on his debut - a truly ridiculous feat.

In fact, in the opening 10 minutes of his debut, the Brazilian midfielder averaged a pass every 18 seconds.

It was double deal for Chelsea last week when the Blues announced the appointment of former Napoli boss Maurizio Sarri as Antonio Conte's replacement, before midfielder Jorginho immediately linked up with the Italian.

He made 1,136 forward passes last season, more than any other Premier League player, and Chelsea fans are understandably excited by the prospect of his contribution ahead of the new campaign.

Commenting on his move to the Premier League, Jorginho told the official Chelsea website:

"I am absolutely ecstatic to be here at Chelsea. It is not easy to become part of such a big team so I am very, very happy.

"I am excited to play in such an intense league, for a team that gives everything to play and win."

He made a total of 101 touches, completing 98 passes in his 45 minute spell, which is absolutely mad when you think about it.

The Brazilian-born Italian had been heavily courted by Manchester City and it was widely reported that they had an agreement for him to join Pep Guardiola's record-breakers.

Chelsea fans won't care, though. Here's some reaction from his incredible debut
