If anyone was wondering if Andrea Pirlo still has it, just what his performance at Anfield in an legends match between AC Milan and Liverpool at Anfield.

The Italian midfield maestro has been retired for a couple of years now after finishing his career with New York City but looked like he'd never been away judging by the classy display he conjured up in the star-studded game.

And he capped off his performance by bending in a free-kick past Sander Westerveld, leaving him completely helpless but also looking like he did it with minimal effort.

Pirlo is one of the best set-piece takers in football history, able to convert from a number of distances and angles - and his natural ability from dead-ball situations still remains.

Prior to today, Il Metronomo's most recent action on the pitch came in his star-studded testimonial at the San Siro.

The game finished finished 7-7 and featured legends galore. From the likes of Filippo Inzaghi, who managed to bag a hat-trick in the testimonial, to Francesco Totti, Clarence Seedorf, Alessandro Del Piero and Alessandro Del Piero.

Not to mention Christian Vieri, Gianluigi Buffon, Rui Costa, Gennaro Gattuso, Paolo Maldini, Cafu and Luca Toni, among so many other iconic figures, including the only British representative, Frank Lampard - who played with Pirlo during his stint in New York.

Pirlo played a half for each side and received a standing ovation when he was rather fittingly replaced by his son, Niccolo - who was wearing his iconic No.21 shirt number.
