Manchester City were knocked out of the FA Cup fifth round on Monday night in a shock defeat to Wigan Atheltic, but Pep Guardiola's side will lift their first trophy of the season this afternoon after an emphatic win against Arsenal.

The treble dream continues and it looked like destiny from the off. Sergio Aguero chipped goalkeeper David Ospina in the first half after a poor Shkodran Mustafi mistake gave him a one-on-one situation.

Then captain Vincent Kompany made it two in the second half.

Manchester City players swarmed the injury-prone defender after he got on the end of Bernardo Silva's cut back from Kevin de Bruyne's corner. It was a fitting moment for Kompany, who has been out for large spells in recent months.

Arsenal failed to really test Ederson and his City back four throughout the second half, as the attacking threat of Aguero and co was too strong.

Pep Guardiola's side continued to threaten and the magician David Silva made it three in the 65th minute.

It was way too easy for the Blues and Gary Neville's commentary summed Arsenal's performance up perfectly.

Congratulations to Manchester City, a deserved win against a very poor Arsenal side.

Have they got a chance of winning a famous treble?
