Jose Luis Gaya scored deep into stoppage time to cancel out Timo Werner's goal in the 51st minute.

But Thiago stole the show as he produced a masterful showing in the middle of the park.

He showed off his short and long range passing as well as his defensive side in an incredible outing.

Needless to say, Thiago's stunning performance on the international stage sent social media wild.

One Twitter user wrote: "What kind of leg sorcery was that pass at 22 seconds?! Genius player, stunning to watch. What a compilation!"

A second tweeted: "Thiago is a baller, he can defend & sprays the ball effortlessly."

A third added: "Iniesta and Xavi = Thiago."

Thiago remains heavily linked with Liverpool who're reportedly reluctant to meet Bayern Munich's £27 million valuation.

And the 29-year-old provided an update on his future following Germany vs. Spain.

He said: "I only think about the game against Ukraine. Afterwards, we will see.

"Bayern is my home and I am happy to be there."

Liverpool, meanwhile, secured their first ever Premier League title last season but Jurgen Klopp has only signed defender Kostas Tsimikas ahead of the new season.

Will Thiago, whose contract expires next summer, join Klopp's side? Watch this space.
