Lionel Messi produced a stunning lofted through ball to Frenkie de Jong as Barcelona scored a wonderful team goal against Real Betis.

Barca suffered an early setback as Sergio Canales coolly fired to the left of Marc-Andre ter Stegen from the spot-kick to put Betis ahead at the Benito Villamarin.

But not long after the opener De Jong, who was signed from Ajax last summer, linked up with Messi to pull one back for Barcelona.

The 22-year-old Dutch midfielder slotted the ball into the path of Barca captain Messi before continuing his run into the Betis box.

And the 32-year-old Argentine forward found De Jong with a sublime cross into the box and the ex-Ajax star brought the ball under control before slamming it into the net.

Fans immediately flooded Twitter with praise for the six-time Ballon d'Or winner after his moment of magic for Barcelona.

Quique Setien's men suffered another setback in the first half as Nabil Fekir stepped up from the edge of the box and buried a low shot past a helpless Ter Stegen.

But Barca managed to pull level before half-time through Sergio Busquets, who latched on to another lofted ball into the box from Messi.

Barcelona took the lead deep into the second half as Messi delivered a brilliant free-kick into the box and Clement Lenglet superbly headed the ball into the net.

Both Barcelona and Betis were reduced to 10 men as Lenglet and Fekir were sent off respectively.

Barcelona completed their stunning 3-2 comeback and move three points behind league leaders Real Madrid.
