In the past, 'selfish' and 'ignorant' have been used to describe the average Premier League footballer, but Bournemouth defender Tyrone Mings deflected that stereotype on Tuesday night.

Shortly after Mings tweeted "I wanna go kick some ball tonight..." at 7:01pm last night, the 24 year-old defender was quickly invited to your classic 5-a-side knockabout with the lads down the 4g.

To the surprise of Bournemouth fan @alexdeutsc, Mings accepted the invitation and headed to the at the Littledown Centre in the Dorset town.

He was greeted with several shocked faces. Here's how the Twitter exchange went down.

Tyrone tweeted his eagerness for a game of footy:

Bournemouth fan @alexdeutsc responded a minute later:

Tyrone then questioned the surface, because realistically nobody wants to play indoors:

@alexdeutsc said 4G:

And the rest is history

The 24-year-old later tweeted a picture of himself and Omar Sowumni, who currently plays at League Two side Yeovil Town, with their new team-mates.

Isn't it great to see a down to earth, normal guy who just wants a kickabout:

I might just tweet Titus Bramble the next time I'm heading to five-a-side.

Now that would be a truly memorable night in Salford.
