Dani Alves is like a fine wine, he gets better with age. Unlike your average footballer, the Brazilian right-back has reached the peak of his abilities at the age of 34.
Many believe the best is yet to come for the Paris Saint-Germain defender, and tonight's performance against Monaco is a prime example of his rare qualities.
The former Barcelona and Juventus man has blossomed into a reliable stalwart in defence, balancing his defensive duties with a goal or two.
A prime example of his attacking capabilities came this evening when PSG manager Unai Emery named Alves named in a front three for PSG's Trophée des Champions match against Monaco.

Although many doubted the decision, it eventually paid off for the Ligue 1 side.
Alves quickly made an impact, scoring a cracking free-kick for Les Parisiens against Leonardo Jardim's new look Monaco side.

Two weeks ago, shortly after signing for the French outfit, Alves aimed a shot at Pep Guardiola and Manchester City in his official press conference.
Having terminated his contract at Juventus last month, it appeared as though the Brazilian was well on his way to Manchester City, where he would be reunited with Guardiola - this time in the Premier League.
However, City weren't prepared to pay the £230,000-a-week salary that the 34-year old will be receiving at PSG, and so he's joined the Ligue One side on a two-year deal, taking the No.32 shirt previously worn by compatriot David Luiz.

As expected, Alves was asked about City's interest in his presser today and his response was an apology followed by what is surely a dig at Guardiola and City:
Can PSG achieve success in this year's Champions League? Can they win Ligue 1?
