Sam Allardyce may not have taken charge of Everton's game against West Ham tonight, but clearly his appointment as the new Toffees manager has had quite the effect on Wayne Rooney, who turned the clock back with one of his finest performances in years.
The former England and Manchester United captain scored a hat-trick that he capped off with an incredible effort from inside his own half - the second time he has scored from such a distance against West Ham in his career.
However, given Everton's precarious position in the league, Rooney will probably have enjoyed this one a lot more than the 60 yarder he scored against the Hammers during a 2-0 victory for Manchester United at Upton Park in 2014.

Rooney's hat-trick put Everton in a commanding 3-0 lead as David Moyes, the manager who handed a 16-year-old Rooney his Goodison Park debut in 2002, watched his new West Ham team slump to yet another defeat.
