After first joining the club as an 11-year-old in 1995, Fernando 'El Nino' Torres will play his last game for Atletíco Madrid at the Wanda Metropolitano, this evening.

In what is guaranteed to be an emotional affair, Torres, who has made 320 appearances for the club, will wear the famous red and white for the final time after two separate spells between 2001-2007 and 2015-2018.

To put his legendary status into perspective, Atleti have given the 34-year-old the captain's armband as a mark of respect to their record goalscorer and youngest captain ever.

Torres, who has played for Liverpool, Chelsea and AC Milan during a 17 year career, returned to the Spanish capital in 2015, but the forward will soon embark on a new chapter in his career.

But not before his current teammates have Torres's name emblazoned on the front of their shirts in his final bow.

A great touch for Atletico.

Ahead of Sunday afternoon's tie against Eibar, the Atletico side celebrated their Europa League win in front of thousands of fans in attendance.

When the squad swarmed the stage, 'El Nino' grabbed the microphone and gave an emotional speech.

His kind and gracious words left plenty emotional as the former Liverpool striker slumped over half way through, rubbing his face to remove the tears.

Who's cutting onions in here?

It was an emotional night on Wednesday as Torres came on as a substitute for Antoine Griezmann in the Europa League final.

And when it was time for the official trophy presentation, Atletico skipper Gabi showed the ultimate respect to the 34-year old by calling him up to lift the trophy with him

What a man. What a legacy he has established in Madrid over the years.
