A female referee stopped a game in the Catalan second division in Spain on Sunday after receiving sexist abuse from the crowd with one spectator shouting at her to "wash the dishes".
Lads, we need to talk! Just because "traditionally" a woman's "place" is in the kitchen doesn't mean we should be delving into archaic, sexist and downright stupid stereotypes for those times where a woman is making her way in football. Fine appreciate a good pair of boobs, because how great are boobs, but if you're going to insult a referee make it about them being an utter twat who needs glasses and not about getting back in the kitchen because they have a vagina!

Back to Sunday's game between UE Valls and Cambrils Unió. As reported by Spanish paper AS, referee Marta Galego stopped the game after being shouted at by one sexist fan during the game with the game starting back up a few minutes later after the fan had been escorted from the match.
Other fans applauded her decision to stop the game and have the moron removed from the ground as Galego reportedly marked down the incident in her note pad for her post match report.
The decision by the ref to stop the game is all part of a new rule introduced by the Catalan Football Federation, the 'Zero Insults from the Stands' initiative. If a referee stops a game three times for verbals from the crowd then the match is called off.
