As talented a striker as he is, Mauro Icardi isn't necessarily one of the first few players you'd name when trying to guess who Europe's most prolific striker is.
This is no slight on the Argentinean hitman, but rather an indication on the ridiculous levels of talent across Europe's top teams, with Messi, Ronaldo, Suarez, Neymar, Aguero, Costa, Griezmann, Lewandowski and Aubameyang regularly scoring for fun across the continent.
Yet despite fronting an underachieving Inter team whose fans have demanded his removal as captain, Icardi has managed to fire himself to the top of the most prolific scorer charts, with 12 goals and four assists so far in the 2016/17 campaign, meaning he's contributed to more goals than anyone else, this season.

Inter have only managed 22 goals combined this term, meaning their skipper has scored more than half their goals. Maybe their Ultras will think twice about that captaincy shout, after all.
