Bruno Fernandes produced a magnificent performance against Roma as a compilation has showcased his scintillating form in a Manchester United shirt.

The Red Devils bounced back on Thursday from 2-1 down to thump Roma 6-2 in the first leg of their Europa League semi-final clash at Old Trafford.

Fernandes fired United into the lead in the opening 10 minutes after superbly combining with Paul Pogba and Edinson Cavani.

A controversial Pogba handball allowed Roma captain Lorenzo Pellegrini to score an equaliser from a penalty, with Edin Dzeko firing the Italian side into the lead before half-time.

However, United launched a successful comeback in the second half as Cavani reminded everyone of his world-class finishing ability with a superb brace.

Fernandes added his second of the match from the spot-kick, while Pogba scored United's fifth and Cavani produced a magnificent assist to set up Mason Greenwood for United's sixth.

The 26-year-old Portuguese star's two assists and brace capped off an excellent performance for United in the Europa League.

And a compilation has spotlighted Fernandes' influence on the pitch and why he has been praised so much since his £47m arrival from Sporting CP last January.

Speaking after the 6-2 win, United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer admitted that his side can not be complacent going into the second-leg clash in Italy next week.

"No, I don't feel the job is done but it was a good job done. We did well but we know they have quality -- the second half was very good," he told BT Sport.

"It's easy thinking who should play, but who should not play?

"That's a very good team, it worked really good against Tottenham. Mason Greenwood should be disappointed not to be playing but it's about balance. We know we have got creative players who can create big moments.

"Paul Pogba's position today was very good in that position, he's allowed some freedom. He's got the foundation behind him. The difference today is we took most of our chances.

"The character showed that they came back and didn't lose their heads. Maybe five or 10 minutes at the end of the first half we didn't look great, but we got ourselves together.

"The two goals are junior, schoolboy errors that shouldn't happen at this level."

Roma will welcome United to the Stadio Olimpico on 6th May for the second-leg Europa League semi-final match.
