It's become an almost annual tradition that Arsenal's title challenge fades away to oblivion around this time of year. But it's also become the same time of year that Arsene Wenger's future is discussed but this time there's a bit of a twist.

Arsenal didn't have too much of a chance of winning the league this season with Chelsea running away with it but recent losses to Chelsea and Watford have confirmed their 13th year without the title.

The Gunners only real chance of silverware this season is once again down to the FA Cup with the North Londoners set to face Bayern Munich in the only other competition they can win, the Champions League.

So once again Wenger's future is in question, especially after Ian Wright suggested he would leave in the summer, and the twist this year is that there are rumours of replacements.

According to the Mirror today Newcastle manager Rafa Benitez is high on the list of possible replacements should the current boss decide to call it a day. And Benitez would apparently bring Thierry Henry in as a coach.

2016 was quite the year for Benitez, the 56 year old started the year at Champions League chasers Real Madrid, was sacked and ended up being relegated with Newcastle but stayed on.

The former Liverpool manager is well liked in the North East and the Magpies are currently in a back and forth battle with Brighton at the top of the Championship.

As well as Benitez the Mirror report that Borussia Dortmund's Thomas Tuchel, Barcelona's Luis Enrique and Monaco's Leonardo Jardim are all on the Gunners shortlist.

In previous years when Wenger's future has been in question people have just speculated who would be the perfect replacement but now we're getting managers actually being linked.

The 67 year old Frenchman has been in charge at Arsenal for 21 years and reportedly has a two year deal on the table should he decide to stay.

Will Wenger be manager at the end of the season?
