Steven Gerrard Lays Into Aaron Ramsey After Cavani Incident

The Liverpool legend wasn't impressed with the Welshman

Aaron Ramsey has not emerged from Arsenal's 2-2 draw with Paris Saint-Germain with much credibility after a clash with Edinson Cavani was treated rather theatrically by the Welshman.

PSG's Uruguayan forward threw a punch at the Gunners midfielder, but made minimal contact, but the way in which Ramsey reacted made it seem as if Mike Tyson had just haymakered him clean in the face. It was not a reaction that was met positively by BT Sport pundit and Champions League winner, Steven Gerrard.

"I think it's one of them things Aaron will look back on and he'll be slightly embarrassed. I don't think there's any need for that reaction. The Welsh are meant to be tough!"

Fellow pundit and Champions League winner Rio Ferdinand felt similarly to the former Liverpool captain, adding, "If this was a foreign player we'd be going mad. He'll be embarrassed when he looks back at that."

Even Arsene Wenger, when asked during his post-match press conference if Cavani should have seen red for the incident, responded that he didn't feel there was much in the altercation. Perhaps the Frenchman needs to hand Ramsey some tapes of Patrick Vieira to study, only perhaps not the one where Roy Keane scares him up the Highbury tunnel.
