Liverpool have only two of their star first-team players to feature in the best statistical Premier League Team of the Season so far, according to WhoScored.

The Reds are racing away with their title challenge as they hold a whopping 22-point lead over defending champions Manchester City.

But Liverpool stars Virgil van Dijk and Sadio Mane are the only two players from Jurgen Klopp's side to make WhoScored's statistical XI.

Dutch superstar Van Dijk, 28, has managed to lock down a 7.4 overall based on his league performances this season.

Liverpool star Mane, 27, is the highest-rated left winger in the league with his overall rating of 7.5.

WhoScored's Premier League XI is lined up in a 4-4-2 formation and has Newcastle shot-stopper Martin Dubravka (6.8) between the sticks.

Leicester City's Ricardo Pereira (7.5) is at right-back while Everton's Lucas Digne (7.2) holds down the left-back position.

Joining Van Dijk in defence is Manchester United skipper Harry Maguire (7.1), who was signed for a whopping £80m last summer.

Wolves star Adama Traore (7.6) takes up his place on the opposite flank to Mane in the four-man midfield.

City playmaker Kevin De Bruyne (7.9) is partnered alongside Aston Villa captain Jack Grealish (7.4), who has been heavily linked with a move to the Red Devils in the summer.

Wolves star Raul Jimenez (7.3) leads the frontline of the attack with Everton forward Richarlison (7.4).

Liverpool's hopes of finishing the league season unbeaten were shattered last weekend in a shock 3-0 defeat to Watford at Vicarage Road.

And the Reds' treble hopes were blown to smithereens on Tuesday night after they suffered a 2-0 defeat to Chelsea in the FA Cup.

Liverpool will hope to bounce back from back-to-back defeats when they welcome Bournemouth to Anfield on Saturday.
