Spurs Defender Juan Foyth Sent Off Two Minutes After Coming On

Not quite the instant impact Mauricio Pochettino will have been hoping for...

Spurs' defender Juan Foyth did the real-life imitation of the classic Simpsons' 'grandpa meme' today when he was sent off just two minutes after coming on against Bournemouth.

The Argentine came on for Toby Alderweireld at half-time as Mauricio Pochettino looked to sure things up at the back following the surprise dismissal of Heung-Min Son at the end of the first half.

But having barely broke a sweat, Spurs received a second straight red card when Foyth took a heavy touch and lunged it late on Jack Simpson.

Craig Pawson showed the red and Spurs were down to nine men.

Foyth joined Son in the early shower club after the South Korean was sent off for retaliating and shoving Jefferson Lerma in a moment of madness at the tail-end of the first half.

Spurs held out for the vast majority of the second half but were undone in stoppage time when Nathan Ake headed home the winner from a corner.

Certainly not the ideal preparation for a Champions League semi-final that your team are losing...
