Look away, Gareth Southgate.

Spurs' prolific Harry Kane was looking to snap a mini-goal drought after firing blank against Huddersfield then Juventus in the Champions League. Today's opposition was Bournemouth in the Premier League.

And the visitors didn't get off to a great start after Junior Stanislas opened the scoring.

Mauricio Pochettino's day then got a whole lot worse.

Kane sustained a knock to his ankle, and was subsequently forced off in the 34th minute with Erik Lamela entering the fray.

And the Spurs boss has confirmed he's injured his ankle, with initial reports suggesting ligament damage.

A huge blow to Spurs, England and Fantasy Premier League managers who had him as captain this gameweek.

England boss Southgate will be praying it's a minor problem with the 2018 World Cup looming.

Naturally, Kane hobbling off sent Twitter into overdrive. Here's some reaction to his injury:

Despite the poor start, Spurs eventually secured all-three points after beating Bournemouth 4-1. Heung-min Son netted a brace, Dele Alli and Serge Aurier also got on the score-sheet.

Here's hoping Kane's injury is nothing too serious.
