Tottenham and Liverpool played out the 'game of the season' as both teams earned a point in an enthralling Premier League clash.

Harry Kane opened the scoring in the 13th minute as he recorded his first home league goal of the season.

He tucked the ball into the back of the net after a superb pass by Tanguy Ndombele.

Though the England international was lucky to stay on the pitch when he was shown just a yellow card for a reckless tackle on Andy Robertson.

Jurgen Klopp raged on the touchline, with match referee Paul Tierney eventually giving him a caution for his angry protestations.

Diogo Jota then cancelled out Kane's strike, heading home in the 35th minute.

In the second-half, Robertson put his team in the lead in controversial fashion after Spurs felt there were two infringements before he scored.

They believed Trent Alexander-Arnold fouled Dele Alli and Mohamed Salah handled the ball in the build-up to the goal.

But Liverpool's lead lasted a mere five minutes, with Alisson making a huge error to allow Son Heung-min to score in an empty net.

Three minutes later, Liverpool were reduced to 10 men as Robertson kicked through Emerson Royal.

Tierney initially brandished a yellow card, but on VAR review - he sent off the left-back.

The point sees Liverpool remain in second place, though they lose ground on league leaders Manchester City, who open up a three-point advantage.

Antonio Conte's team sit in seventh place, but have games in hand over their rivals.
