Gareth Southgate is looking to blood new youngsters into his England fold ahead of the 2020 European Championship.

The England boss, who has since become a hero following his appointment in 2016, selected an extremely youthful squad for the World Cup.

The young 'Three Lions' did themselves proud by reaching the World Cup semi-final which included knocking out Colombia on penalties.

Despite the adolescent nature of Southgate's squad, he's planning on drafting in Ryan Sessegnon, Phil Foden, Jadon Sancho and Ademola Lookman.

There was plenty of clamour for Sessegnon to make England's 23-man World Cup squad.

The 18-year-old phenom continued to enhance his reputation following last season's brilliance. He helped Fulham win promotion to the Premier League with his superb goals and assists.

Sancho has emerged as a hot prospect, too. After completing a move to Borussia Dortmund, he featured in 12 Bundesliga games, playing alongside Marco Reus, Mario Gotze not to mention Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang before he transferred to Arsenal.

He wasn't the only player who ventured to Germany. Lookman followed suit by sealing a loan move to RB Leipzig, where he impressed with his attacking flair.

Foden, 18, rounds off the list. The Manchester City ace shot to fame by bagging international honours with England winning the U-17 World Cup.

Southgate is reportedly monitoring the budding quartet ahead of the Euro's qualifying campaign.

While England missed a wonderful opportunity to reach a World Cup final, Southgate has transformed the image of the national team.

"Ten months ago, we qualified (for the World Cup) and people were throwing paper aeroplanes on to the pitch at Wembley," he said prior to Croatia game.

"We were driving back to our hotel in Malta with some obscene chants being thrown at us from supporters," he recalls.

"I feel like we've started to connect the team with the public again. I feel like we've created excitement, like we've played in a style that has really shown an expression of what young English players are capable of, and I want us to continue doing that.

"They've been able to change perceptions of how an England team might play."
