Someone Has Created An Event For Manchester United's 'Relegation Party' On May 12

They are closer to relegation than they are to league leaders Manchester City...

Rival fans are no doubt loving Manchester United's situation at the moment. In yesterday's early kick-off, Jose Mourinho's side succumbed to a 3-1 defeat to West Ham, completing a quite horrific week after a drab draw with Wolves and the Carabao Cup exit at the hands of Championship Derby.

Following on from other results later in the day, United find themselves in 10th place, level on points with Bournemouth, who are ahead on goal difference and still have to play Crystal Palace in Monday night's fixture.

With the same amount of wins as defeats in the league this season, United are nine points behind leaders and rivals Manchester City - but what's even more embarrassing is the fact they are mathematically closer to relegation than they are to winning the league.

There's eight points between United and 18th placed Newcastle, who haven't even won a game this season. And with United in such a mess at the moment, someone on Facebook decided to plan ahead by hosting a 'relegation party' event on May 12, the final day of the Premier League season.

So far, 2,800 people have joined in with the trolling by saying they are going to the event, while a further 8,400 are interested at the time of writing.

Plenty of people on your Facebook feed will have likely responded to the big bash, which is to be staged in the city of Salford and encourages fans to bring "plastic flags, half and half scarves and song sheets".

Preceding the big celebration at the end of the season is United's visit of Cardiff City at Old Trafford, in what could be a massive game in deciding who goes down.

Obviously we're joking about it all but things really are not looking good at United at the moment. It feels very much like Mourinho's final season at Chelsea in his second spell - and as per usual he's blaming every man and dog as opposed to holding his hands up himself.

It certainly doesn't look like the players are playing for him too, particularly with all the strong rumours about his issues with certain individuals.

Can Mourinho turn things around or is the end very much near?
