The legendary manager's reaction was picked up by the cameras, and he was less than impressed - to say the least.

Sir Alex Ferguson looked flabbergasted at what he was witnessing at Old Trafford this evening, as the Sky camera picked up both his, and Sir Kenny Dalglish's contrasting reactions to Liverpool's dominant 5-0 win.

Dalglish meanwhile was seen moments later laughing away, seemingly very content with the away sides performance.

Liverpool raced into a 4-0 first-half lead, which was the first time in 70 years that an away side has held such a lead at Old Trafford heading into the break.

It was five inside the first few minutes of the second period, with Mohamed Salah rounding off his hat-trick in style.

In the aftermath of the Egyptian's third goal, the Sky cameras panned to Sir Alex, who was watching on in the Old Trafford stands.

As you can view below, the former United boss could seldom believe what he was seeing.

Straight after showing the reaction of one legendary manager, the cameras picked up a gleeful looking Dalglish, who was revelling in Liverpool's 5-0 lead.

Many on social media simply appreciated the poetic nature of the camera switch, showing the contrasting emotions on display this afternoon.

It doesn't get any easier for United, as next up is the Manchester Derby back at Old Trafford.

Whether Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will still be in charge of the club by then remains to be seen - as his predecessor and former boss wasn't at all impressed with today's showing.
