Sir Alex Ferguson visited the hotel PSG are staying ahead of their Champions League semi-final second leg this evening.

The Ligue One side are in Manchester ahead of the big game at the Etihad Stadium and have taken temporary residence at the Lowry Hotel upon arrival into the city.

And Ferguson, United's legendary and hugely successful manager, was seen heading into the hotel wearing a United branded face mask on Tuesday morning.

Due to coronavirus protocols, it's believed the Lowry Hotel is being entirely occupied by PSG players and officials in their bubble.

The Scot was pictured walking past the PSG team bus and entering the hotel lobby, and later snapped leaving with PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi.

According to Richard Fay from the Manchester Evening News, the 79-year-old was at the hotel for roughly 1 hour and 20 minutes.

The nature of Ferguson's visit has not yet been officially confirmed, though the 13-time Premier League winner does have a good relationship with PSG boss Mauricio Pochettino.

The pair had lunch and shared a bottle of red wine in 2013, with Pochettino ending up paying for the meal.

City take a 2-1 lead into the reverse fixture, having come from a goal down to beat the Parisians at the Parc Des Princes courtesy of second half goals from Kevin De Bruyne and Riyad Mahrez.

The winner of the semi-final tie will play Chelsea or Real Madrid in the Champions League final in Istanbul on 29 May.
