Xherdan Shaqiri has had his say on being snubbed for the Euro 2016 goal of the tournament.

The Swiss attacker scored an outrageous bicycle kick in the Last 16 tie against Poland. Despite his wonderful effort they eventually crashed out on penalties to the Pole's. Yet, by many critics and footballing pundits, it seemed he was set on winning the goal of the tournament acting as a decent consolation prize.

Nope.

That award went to Hungary's Zoltan Gera (!!) His long-range half volley was enough to clinch it as voted by the fans - ah, that's why. The Stoke City star doesn't seem to be too fussed, though. Via Blick.

"There are some things it would just be better not to put to the vote. I'm not disappointed that my goal was not elected. Everyone knows but that my goal was the most beautiful! Perhaps all Hungarians have voted."

It appears the fans know where it should of went.

It's not too long before the little magician struts his stuff in the Premier League.
