Real Madrid qualified for their seventh consecutive Champions League semi-final as Cristiano Ronaldo inspired Los Blancos with a perfect hat-trick to sink Bayern Munich in a 4-2 win at the Bernabeu.

Robert Lewandowski put the visitors ahead from the spot minutes into the second half, before Ronaldo headed home the equaliser in the 76th minute.

Bayern were back in front almost instantly though, when Sergio Ramos scored a bizarre own goal a minute later.

Chilean midfielder Arturo Vidal was controversially sent off six minutes from time and that swung the momentum in Madrid's favour when extra time rolled around.

Ronaldo bagged a further two in extra time, and with the linesman failing to correctly flag the Portuguese man offside both times, he became the first player to reach 100 Champions League goals.

Marcos Asensio added gloss on the win against 10-man Bayern,m but even before that, Barcelona defender Gerard Pique was quite clearly livid when he took to Twitter as soon as Ronaldo's first, the more clear offside goal, went in.

The simple tweet exploded, instantly racking up thousands of retweets and favourites:

After the Real Madrid's progression to the semi-final, defender Sergio Ramos was asked about Pique, and as quoted by Marca, had the following response:

"I'm tired of answering those questions. Pique needs to rewind and take a look at the PSG game."

To say they are a centre-back pairing for Spain's national team, it seems like Ramos and Pique talk about one another quite regularly. Only three weeks ago they were swapping digs after a victory for Spain.

Meanwhile fans on Twitter have pointed out that technically, there was a third illegal goal in the game- this one being Sergio Ramos' own goal.

In the build-up to the goal, both Lewandowski and teammate Thomas Muller were offside and so the goal should not have counted.
