Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero was involved in a car crash on Wednesday morning, which ended in significant damage to the player's car, but fortunately not the player.

Aguero was driving to City training, ahead of their game against Crystal Palace at the weekend, when he was involved in a 'minor' collision on the road.

According to Sky Sports the former Atletico Madrid striker was able to take full part in training, though it looks like he might need some significant work on his car.

Sky Sports reporter David Gorrido spoke about the incident of Sky Sports News, saying, "We understand he is unhurt after being involved in a small car collision, we've been told that he's had a bump this morning.

"It's been described as a minor plan, but has reported to the CFA - City Football Academy as well as the rest of the ancestor City squad and we understand he didn't need to be checked the by medical team."

Aguero took to Instagram with a post of the car, sarcastically describing it as a 'great morning,' on his 'story.'

The 31-year-old, who has been in Manchester during the international break still in training rather than with Argentina, has history with car accidents.

In 2017 he was given time off by Pep Guardiola and went to a concert in Amsterdam, whilst there he was involved in a car accident with the taxi he was in colliding with a lamppost.

On the incident two years ago the City boss said, "I only knew this morning when I woke up [of the accident].

"I don't want to know what my players do. If they are fathers they have a full responsibility on their shoulders on and off the pitch. They know what they have to do.

"I have a private life, a family. There are rules and ways to live between each other and that's all."

Aguero only missed 14 days injured after the previous incident but he looks unlikely to miss any time after Wednesday's crash.

That will come a relief to the club as they hope to chase down Liverpool's eight point gap at the top of the table and need their top scorer who is on eight league goals already this season.
