It may still be three years away but Sergio Aguero has made plans for when his Manchester City contract expires. The pint size Argentine has confirmed that he will not be extending his current deal with the Citizens and will instead return to Argentina.

According to reports in The Daily Mail, City officials had been in discussions with Aguero's representatives about adding an extra year to his deal, which ends in 2019, but the former Atletico striker wishes to return to boyhood team Independiente to see out the remaining years of his illustrious career.

The 27-year-old signed his £150,000-a-week deal two years ago and admitted that while City have been 'great' about his future, he will not remain at the Etihad longer than he has to. In an interview with Independiente En La Uno, Aguero said:

"In the last few months a lot of things have been said about a new contract, but I didn't pay any attention.

"It's clear to me that when my contract ends, after the World Cup [Russia 2018], I'm going to Independiente."

"Here at the club they are great with me, they always told me that they were open if the chance of a transfer arises.

"But where am I going to go in Europe? No, when I go, when my contract ends, I'm going to Argentina to play for El Rojo. From Manchester, straight to Avellaneda."
