Sergio Aguero has come out fighting as a report claimed that he may not play football again after being diagnosed with a heart condition.

Aguero has an irregular heartbeat, which is technically known as cardiac arrhythmia, and Catalunya Ràdio highlighted the complexities that surround his diagnosis.

The report suggests that he will undergo stress tests to see how it evolves, but it was largely downbeat regarding his chances of stepping out onto the football pitch once more.

But the man himself has responded and is refusing to give up hope on a return back to action, and said: "Given the rumours, I tell them that I am following the indications of the club's doctors, doing tests and treatment and seeing my progress within 90 days. Always positive."

This tweet largely echoes the original statement made by Barcelona after the Argentine was forced off the pitch with breathing difficulties in the 1-1 draw with Alaves.

This statement made on 1st November said: "Aguero has been subjected to a diagnostic and therapeutic process by Dr Brugada.

"He is unavailable for selection and, during the next three months, the effectiveness of treatment will be evaluated in order to determine his recovery process."

Barca must carry on without Aguero for at least the immediate future, and turn their attention to a home derby clash with Espanyol after the international break on 20th November.

Let's hope we see him back in Barcelona shirt again very soon.
