Tottenham Hotspur defender Serge Aurier's brother was shot dead on Monday morning, outside of a nightclub in Toulouse.

French outlets Le Point and Europe 1 reported that Christophe Aurier died in hospital this morning after being found outside of a nightclub in the French city in the early hours of this morning.

The 26-year-old is believed to have been found with a gunshot wound to the abdomen and was taken to Toulouse University hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The killer is believed to still be at large as French authorities investigate the incident outside the nightclub.

Aurier's brother was also a footballer and came through the ranks at RC Lens, like Serge, and has been playing in the fifth division, at amateur level, with Toulouse Rodeo.

He had a trial at Premier League promotion chasing Brentford in 2011.
