And as he is working towards his UEFA A licence, he has been helping out with the training of some of the club's youngsters.

According to Mike Keegan of the Daily Mail, Scholes has been taking charge of training youngsters "about once a month" and his sessions are said to have gone down extremely well with the young guns, who were no doubt ecstatic to be learning and taking in knowledge from one of the most technically gifted players we have ever had the privilege of watching.

Youngster Brendy Galakin was certainly delighted about having the opportunity to be trained by such a decorated player and posted a picture of the scholar squad posing with Scholes.

Scholes was reportedly offered the Oldham job in 2015 and turned it down because of timing, but did openly state his admiration for the club and what they are all about.

He's also been involved with coaching at Manchester United in the past, getting involved with the youth set-up, which is currently headed by former teammate and fellow Class of 92 graduate Nicky Butt.

Should Scholes step into management or a coaching role on a full-time basis in the near future, he will be one of many ex United stars to do so. Ryan Giggs, Gary and Phil Neville, Jaap Stam, Nicky Butt, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Roy Keane have all given it a bash - with mixed results.

Do you think Scholes has what it takes to be a top manager in the game or should he stick to his punditry duties?
