Samuel Eto'o could be be set to make a shock return to football at the age of 39.
The Cameroonian announced his retirement in September 2019 following a spell with Qatar SC but he is being strongly linked with a move to Racing Murcia, who play in the third tier of Spanish football.
Murcia, who achieved promotion to the third division last term, have outside investors and hope to secure a huge coup in signing the three-time Champions League winner.

They are keen on playing a Copa Del Rey tie against La Liga's Levante in the United Arab Emirates and the capture of such a high profile player like Eto'o can only boost the chances of that happening.
The club president, Morris Pagniello, told Radio Marca: "At this time of the morning I would say that the signing of Samuel Eto'o by our team is at 50-50.
"Next week we will know if we can sign Eto'o. If not, we have a Plan B prepared.

"We have several investors in Mexico and the Emirates who can financially compensate the operation."
News of Eto'o potentially making a comeback come a week after he was hospitalised with a minor head injury after his car was hit by a bus.
Eto'o was said to be driving between Douala and Bafoussam when the incident occurred and a report stated he was believed to be in "a fine and stable condition".

Four-time African Player of the Year Eto'o turned out for Real Madrid and RCD Mallorca before tearing up at Barcelona, where he scored 130 goals in 199 appearances and four La Liga titles and two Champions Leagues.

He then moved to Inter Milan as part of a swap deal involving Zlatan Ibrahimovic and won a second consecutive treble in his first season playing under Jose Mourinho at the San Siro.
Eto'o later ventured into English football with Chelsea and Everton, as well playing for the likes of Sampdoria, Antalyaspor and Konyaspor.
The well-travelled forward was recently included in France Football's top-ten list of right-wingers but took issue with his inclusion - pointing out that he played the majority of his career through the middle.
