Salah Could Pull Out Of World Cup Over Row With Egypt

Salah Could Pull Out Of World Cup Over Row With Egypt

The Liverpool forward will be instrumental to Egypt's hopes of getting past the Group Stage in Russia this summer.

With Mo Salah in his current form this season Egypt have a chance of making it into the knockout stages of the World Cup but there is no doubt that the Premier League's top scorer will be in Russia.

I think I'm still in disbelief from seeing Mo Salah fail to score at the weekend. Early in Liverpool's match with Stoke the Egyptian superstar had the chance to put the Reds 1-0 up when one-on-one with Jack Butland and somehow he managed to miss.

Salah in a chippy will still be our Salah highlight of the season:

That failure to score led Liverpool to only pick up a point against the relegation threatened Potters but more importantly it just baffled everyone that the net didn't bulge considering everything Salah touches normally turns to goals.

In the summer he'll have his whole country hoping he can replicate his Liverpool form for Egypt in the World Cup but an ongoing row means he may not make it.

The Egyptian FA have allowed use of his image on a plane sponsored by their official sponsor 'WE' a rival of Vodafone Egypt who sponsor Salah. Despite previous conversations the FA have not backed down so Salah took to social media, tweeting: "Unfortunately the way to deal with it is a very big insult... I was hoping the deal would be classier than this.

It is his agent though who has really cast doubt over his clients participation at the tournament in Russia. Ramy Abbas took to Twitter saying, "What effect do they think this is having? A good one?! Anyway, time is of the essence..."

Egypt haven't been in the World Cup since 1990 and, with Salah, have every chance of getting through the Group Stages. They may have hosts Russia in the group but along with Uruguay and Saudi Arabia anyone of the four could easily qualify.

As well as a blow to Egypt it would be a blow to all neutrals as we all want to see the best players at the World Cup and right now Salah is certainly one of those.

Hopefully it all gets sorted.
