Life can be so, so cruel.
Emiliano Sala, 28, has tragically gone missing while fulfilling a long-life dream of playing in the Premier League. He flew across the English channel with no word on his whereabouts, after saying goodbye to his former Nantes teammates in a touching gesture.

Here you have a young man dedicating his life to football. He left Argentina to pursue a career by moving to France, living in a boarding house.
His hard-work ultimately paid off as he broke into the Bordeaux first-team. Whilst it never worked out at the Ligue 1 club, he was prolific during his loan spells at Orleans and Niort which prompted a transfer to Nantes, where he rose to prominence.
Sala's performances caught the attention of Cardiff City, and he was on the verge of plying his trade in the most lucrative league in world football whilst achieving his dream after sealing a deal with the Welsh outfit.

However, a once in a lifetime opportunity has now evaporated following his devastating disappearance.
A dream move is suddenly becoming a nightmare.
To work your way steadily to the top from the bottom brilliantly illustrates Sala's drive and ambition, but to possibly have his dream and life taken away from him is truly heart-breaking.
Sala's decision to realise his potential and to be the best he can be might have unfairly cost him his life.
