Cristiano Ronaldo is apparently phoning one of his former teammates to try and convince him to join Juventus.

The Portuguese mega-star swapped Spanish football for Italian football last summer in a transfer worth a reported £100 million.

And he's hoping to lure some of his ex-colleagues to Turin, too.

Ronaldo is reportedly calling James Rodriguez to try and convince him to transfer to the Serie A side in the summer, according to Spanish outlet Marca.

The Colombian international is entering the final six months of a loan spell at Bayern Munich from Real Madrid.

Though Bayern Munich have an option to seal his services on a permanent deal for a believed £31 million.

But further reports suggest the Bundesliga outfit won't exercise this clause, paving the way for Juventus who've identified Rodriguez as a summer target.

The 27-year-old midfielder has been plying his trade in Germany for the last 18 months, and has featured in 11 league games this season including five appearances off the bench.

Ronaldo, meanwhile, is enjoying another prolific campaign. He's bagged an impressive 17 league goals in his debut season in Italy's top flight.

He's the leading scorer in the league after scoring a brace against Parma on Saturday.
