Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane admits the players within his star-studded squad all have a replacement but with the exception of midfielder Casemiro.

The Frenchman outlined the squads plan was to have two players vying for competition in each position. And gave this response when quizzed by reporters on why he didn't recruit any talent over the summer.

"We got back (Alvaro) Morata, (Fabio) Coentrao and (Marco) Asensio. Morata can cover Karim's (Benzema) position and Asensio can cover Ronaldo's. The idea was to duplicate all the positions." Zidane told RMC.

Revealing the Brazilian is an important member while also claiming he was "irreplaceable" to AS last month. "The only player who has not a replacement is Casemiro."

Casemiro was thought to be an average player but has since become a pivotal player in 'Zizou's' side. From his industrious work in the engine room of the pitch to the accuracy of his passing.

Ahead of the Champions League final last season, Atletico coach Diego Simeone also singled him out as his side's "most important player."
