Ronald Koeman is making strides forward with Everton, his side currently lie in 5th place having lost just one game in the Premier League this season.

However, Koeman's son, Ronald Jr is also making waves - as a goalkeeper.

The 21-year old the first-choice between the sticks for FC Oss, who are currently in 19th place in the Dutch second tier.

It's been a mixed bag for the youngster, whose side have gathered just seven points so far.

However, he did make a career accomplishment at the end of September when he played against his father's former side Feyenoord at a packed De Kuip.

His Dad, unsurprisingly, was incredibly proud of his son's achievement.

Yet remarkably, goalkeeper hasn't been Ronald Jr's primary position, as Ronald Sr explained.

Speaking to Everton's official club website, he said:

"He started to play as a goalkeeper when he was 15 or so.He has always played football and was always out on the pitch but one day he changed his mind and started to be a goalkeeper. He has talent but there is a long way to go to be a part of professional football. But he knows that and, if he doesn't, I will tell him!"

The 53-year old was unable to be in attendance for his son's game against Feyenoord in Rotterdam, but is following his progress from afar.

"I didn't make it over so I had to make do with the television. I couldn't go in person because the next day we had to travel to Bournemouth. I don't often get the chance to see him play because football here is often on a Saturday and he will normally play on the Friday. Thankfully the TV allows me to follow what he is doing."

Ronald Jr certainly has football in his roots, with his Dad Ronald Sr, uncle Erwin and Grandad Martin - all of which were Netherlands internationals.
