Rodri's insane numbers from last season suggests he's the perfect addition to Manchester City's formidable midfield.

The Spaniard has been described as the "perfect fit" for Pep Guardiola's team and his passing accuracy from last season brilliantly illustrates that sentiment.

Rodri performed heroically for Atletico Madrid in the middle of the park in the 2018/19 La Liga campaign as he recorded an outrageous 91% passing accuracy.

He also produced 1927 passes while completing an impressive 41 interceptions.

The defensive-minded midfielder has put pen to paper on a five-year deal as he becomes City's record transfer in a deal worth £62.5 million.

He's spoken since completing his move to England from Atletico Madrid.

"What City have achieved in the last two years has been amazing and I'm looking forward to being part of such a talented squad," he said at his official unveiling.

"It's not just the titles they have won, but the way they have managed it, playing attacking football at all times.

"It's a style that excites me, as do the Club's ambitions.

"I can't wait to start working with Pep Guardiola and my new team-mates and hopefully we can achieve great things together."

"Rodri has proven himself to be a hugely talented, young midfielder, who has all the attributes we are looking for," said City's director of football Txiki Begiristain.

"He works hard defensively, makes himself available to receive the ball and uses it well when in possession.

"He is a perfect fit for Pep Guardiola's team and we are confident he will be a success."

The Premier League champions have also recruited Angeliño who rejoins the club from PSV Eindhoven. The defender has signed a four-year contract.
