Roberto Mancini Reaches Agreement To Become Italy Manager

He's reportedly set to be the next Italy manager.

Roberto Mancini has reportedly agreed terms to become the next Italy manager.

Reports surfacing from Sky Italia claim Mancini held talks with Italian FA sub-commissioner Alessandro Costacurta, and team director Gabriele Oriali in Rome.

And it appears the respective parties have struck a deal with the 53-year-old.

Mancini made his managerial name in Italy. He managed Fiorentina and Lazio before being appointed Inter Milan gaffer.

He then took charge of Manchester City, where he won the Premier League title in the 2011/12 season as well as the FA Cup.

Following his spell in England, Mancini headed up Galatasaray's charge before returning to Italy with Inter Milan.

He's been in Russia since 2017, coaching Zenit St Petersburg. Though all signs are leading to Mancini taking his first managerial job at international level.

Mancini will be taking over from Gian Piero Ventura who was sacked after failing to quality for this summers World Cup.

Italy are a notable absentee from Russia following the Play-Off defeat to Sweden.

Under-21 coach Luigi Di Biagio has filled the void recently on a interim basis with Mancini reportedly set to be appointed.

Ex and current Premier League manager's were also heavily linked with 'Gli Azzurri' vacancy in Carlo Ancelotti and Antonio Conte.
