Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski's future has been cast into major doubt, and Chelsea are looking to take advantage of the situation.

The Poland captain fired Bayern to yet another Bundesliga title, ending another goal-heavy campaign with 30 goals in the German top tier.

He was pipped to the Bundesliga Golden Boot though, as Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, his replacement at Borussia Dortmund, edged him out by finding the net 31 times.

Initially, Lewandowski took it in good spirits and congratulated his rival for the success:

But the 28-year old then spoke to the Polish media and blamed his teammates for him not scooping the gong.

"It doesn't hurt anymore, but it did at first," he said.

"Maybe because I wasn't completely satisfied with the way my team helped me. Immediately after the last game, I felt anger. I was disappointed with my team. That was the feeling I had."

Maik Barthel, Lewandowski's agent, went a step further with his comments, saying:

"Robert told me that he got no support and that the coach gave no call to help him in the last game to win the top-scorer title.

"He was disappointed as I have ever seen him before."

The aforementioned comments from both Lewandowski and his agent have fuelled talk of a shock exit from the Allianz Arena, and according to The Mirror, Chelsea are in pole position and are preparing a move.

Diego Costa appears to be on the move after being told he is no longer wanted in a text from boss Antonio Conte, and the striker looks set to return to Atletico Madrid, most likely on loan at first before Atleti's transfer ban passes over in July and Costa can be registered on the books.

Lewandowski, easily one of the world's deadliest strikers, would be an incredible signing for Chelsea if they can pull it off - though they will surely have to cough up a hefty sum.

Guillem Balague has also weighed in with a bit of information on Lewandowski's situation:

Former player Romelu Lukaku, Alvaro Morata and Torino striker Andrea Belotti are the other strikers being linked with a move to Stamford Bridge.
