Riyad Mahrez produced a filthy outside of the boot pass for Manchester City's second goal against Birmingham City today.
Pep Guardiola's side capped off an impressive week with a 3-0 victory in the FA Cup third round tie, with Bernardo Silva notching twice and Phil Foden also getting in on the act.
The first from Silva was a superb strike at the far post and his second finished off a glorious team move. Kevin De Bruyne registered another assist when he cut it back to the Portugal international but it was all about the exquisite pass from Mahrez.
Using the always aesthetically pleasing outside of the boot, he completely unlocked the Birmingham defence and found the well-timed run of De Bruyne.
It was just effortless from the former Leicester City winger and it looks even better in GIF form.
The Algerian, who thought he'd got his name on the scoresheet in the second half only for the offside flag to deny him, was thoroughly impressive at the Etihad Stadium, as his stats show.
City secured comfortable passage into the fourth round of the cup, with the Blues having now won six consecutive games in all competitions.
Advert
It's the first time since 2018/19 that they've put such a run together. Next up for City are home games against Brighton, Crystal Palace and Aston Villa in the Premier League before a trip to West Brom on 26 January.
