Lionel Messi absolutely ruined Dani Carvajal's reputation as a defender after he showed off his own bit of defensive display on the ball in El Clásico.

The 31-year-old Barcelona forward took control of the ball and invited the 27-year-old Real Madrid right-back to come in for a challenge.

However, Carvajal's kick on Messi ended up with him falling on his backside and scurrying back to his feet to catch back up with the five-time Ballon d'Or winner.
