A Manchester United fan has launched a furious tirade arguing that Jordan Henderson wouldn't make the Red Devils' current starting XI.

The 29-year-old English midfielder has captained his side to their incredible title challenge this season before the Premier League was postponed due to the coronavirus.

And Henderson is one of the favourites to be named Premier League Player of the Season for his exploits this season.

However, a United fan argued with a talkSPORT host that the Liverpool skipper wouldn't make the Red Devils' starting team.

The fan, called Anthony, traded verbal blows with Kick Off presenter Darren Lewis and claimed that Henderson doesn't have any skill.

When Anthony questioned the England international's abilities, Lewis responded: "Well, he's got leadership, he's got passing ability, he's got tackling ability... come on, don't disrespect a guy who inspired his team to the Champions League last season and has followed that up this season by inspiring his team to the Premier League."

The United fan fired back at the "inspired" comment by suggesting that he wouldn't make it into the Red Devils' midfield ahead of Bruno Fernandes, Fred and Nemanja Matic.

Lewis insisted that he would pick a three-man midfield of Henderson alongside Fernandes and Paul Pogba.

"I would have him in there instead of Matic, absolutely I would," he explained.

Unsurprisingly, Lewis' opinion was met back with a fierce response from Anthony, who questioned if he 'knew anything about football.'

The fan argued: "Henderson wouldn't even wipe his... I'm not even going [to] say it. Henderson isn't even a footballer, mate, he just passes sideways five yards. To be [a] midfielder you need a bit of skill."

Former Aston Villa striker Gabriel Agbonlahor, who is one of the Kick Off hosts, weighed in on the debate by insisting that Henderson could win the Player of the Season award.

"You have to look at Henderson, and he probably could get Player of the Year," the 33-year-old former footballer said.

"I think he will get Player of the Year, he's up there to get it, that's how good he's been for me."
