Alex Morgan Asked To Choose Between Lionel Messi And Cristiano Ronaldo
Alex Morgan snubbed Cristiano Ronaldo as the best player in the world by claiming that Lionel Messi is a "level higher than any other player I watch."
The American superstar, 30, was on the cover of FIFA 16 alongside Barcelona captain Messi in the US.
Just like many other footballers, coaches and pundits, Morgan was asked for her verdict on the Barca talisman and the Juventus superstar.
"I would have to say Messi," the US co-captain said.
"He's just so much better... He's a level higher than any other player I watch.
"He's a really exciting player to watch."
Morgan, who is pregnant and expecting to have her first child in April, helped fire her national side to their record fourth Women's World Cup title last summer.

But the soon-to-be mother came under heavy criticism in the tournament for her 'teacup' celebration in the US' 2-1 win against England in the semi-finals.
However, Morgan slammed the double standards in the sport and questioned why the same standards weren't upheld with Ronaldo and Diego Simeone's 'cojones' celebration last season.
"You see men celebrating all around the world in big tournaments, grabbing their sacks or whatever it is," the Orlando Pride forward said.
"And when I look at sipping a cup of tea, I'm a little taken aback... You have to laugh about it, to see all the criticism."
Morgan recently took to Twitter and spoke about the "immense unnecessary anxiety and stress" of giving birth without her partner due to the outbreak of the coronavirus.
The World Cup-winning star tweeted to her 4m followers: "No woman should be forced to go through the most intense, life changing, painful, and beautiful moment of their lives without their partner AND doula if delivering in a hospital.
"These changes have caused immense unnecessary anxiety and stress for moms to be."
