The Premier League Team Of 2020 Based On Stats Includes Mustafi And Fernandes

Arsenal's Shkodran Mustafi and Manchester United's Bruno Fernandes have both been named in the Premier League team of 2020 based on stats.

WhoScored have crunched all-important statistics to determine the best XI in the Premier League since the turn of the year and the results make for interesting reading.

League leaders Liverpool have the most representatives (3) in Virgil van Dijk, Jordan Henderson and Mohamed Salah with the rest of the team made up of players from Manchester City, Leicester City, Chelsea, Manchester United, Tottenham, Arsenal, Everton and Newcastle United.

Spurs' Hugo Lloris is statistically the best goalkeeper in England's top flight and the Frenchman's back four consists of Ricardo Pereira, the aforementioned Mustafi and Van Dijk as well as Cesar Azpilicueta.

Kevin De Bruyne joins Fernandes and Henderson in midfield, while Richarlison and Allan Saint-Maximin lead the line alongside Salah.

Players must have made a minimum of five league appearances in 2020 to earn a spot in the team.

Needless to say, WhoScored's Premier League team of 2020 sent social media into overdrive.
